Hybrid meshing with efield™

The time domain solver combines finite differences on structured grids with finite elements on unstructured grids. Finite elements enable accurate modelling of complex geometries by using a body-conforming grid and allow local spatial refinement to resolve small details. Stability is guaranteed through a careful coupling of the different regions of the hybrid grid.

The hybrid grid generation is an automatic process that gives the user the freedom to choose which type of grid to use for different parts of the geometry. An important feature is that there may be several disconnected unstructured regions in the same simulation model.
